Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, it is better to book in advance to have your seat(s) reserved. Reservations by e-mail, telephone or letter.
At what time do your tours start?
Half day tour starts at (weekdays) 9:45am, (Saturday 10:30am, Sunday at 11.30am)
Full day tour starts (weekdays) at 9.45am.

Where is the meeting point in BAYEUX?
The tours start from the "Place de Quebec" the parking area behind the Hotel Churchill in the middle of town, easy to find, just a 10 min.walk from the Bayeux train station. I'll send you the map.
Private Tour: I'll pick you up at the Bayeux Hotel or Bayeux trainstation.
Where do I find train info?
Train info at: www.sncf.com.html. Trains to Bayeux leave from Paris St. Lazare station, direction Cherbourg. It takes 2hrs.20min.by train. First train during weekdays from Paris at 7:07am, arrival time Bayeux at 9:30am.
Are your tours in English?
Yes, all my tours are in English, or bilingual Dutch/English.
Do we stop for lunch?
For the half day tour we do NOT stop for lunch.
On the full day tour we stop for lunch and have a "pick-nick" lunch.We will buy our sandwiches at the first stop at Arromanches. Bad weather ? We stop for a quick "sandwich" lunch in a local restaurant..
How much time do we have at each Battle site?
That depends on the site; I walk with you all the time and tell you on the spot what it is and was. You will have lots of time to take your pictures during the visits.
How much time we have at the American Cemetery?
After my talking about the American Cemetery, you will have another 35 minutes to walk the area by yourselves. We will be at the American Cemetery for almost an hour.
Do we visit a Museum?
No, we will not visit any museum on the tour. I like to show and tell you just as much as possible, within the 4 1/2 or 8 hours of the tour.
What kind of payment is required?
Credit Cards are accepted , Cash in euro, euro Trav. Checks, For payment in US $ > 35% surcharge or equal to the euro / dollar conversion. In Europe by IBAN
Are your D-Day tours year round?
Yes, year round, but I need at least 2 pass. for the halfday- and/or fulldaytour.
How many seats your van holds?
Maximum pass. 8. I have a brandnew (May 2009) 8 pass. Opel "Vivaro".
Do you take children on your tours ?
Minimum age for a group tour is 10 years. (no discount). Younger kids in your party ? Please make a reservation for a PRIVATE tour, so we may do the tour at your own pace.
Is there a student discount ?
Sorry, no student discounts.
How many drivers/guides in your company?
I'm just a "one man, one van company". I made my hobby my job. I know the area for over 20 years and studied the D-Day Landings and Battle for Normandy for many years.
How is the weather in Normandy?
Often wet and windy (=COLD), so be prepared. In summertime max. 80 degrees.
Bring some good walking shoes.
Can you suggest a nice place to stay the night before, or after the tour?

What is your cancellation policy?
With your reservation / confirmation if the total amount exceeds euro 45, you pay 50% deposit, unless the reservation / confirmation is three weeks or less before confirmed tourdate, payment now 100%.
Refund deposit 100% up till six weeks before confirmed tour date.
Refund deposit 50% six to three weeks before confirmed tour date.
THREE WEEKS OR LESS BEFORE CONFIRMED TOUR DATE NO REFUND.
No show: 100% payment.
Deposit may be paid by creditcard (VISA or Mastercard only) The balance will be charged approx.
three weeks before confirmed tourdate.
Missed the train in Paris ? Missed the train at Caen, or forgot to get out at Caen ? Got sick ?
Sorry no refund.
Be sure to have the right travel insurance in case of cancellation !!
